Culebra

Culebra

Tuesday, Nov 1, 2022

• If you’re like me and like planning a trip with anticipation you must put Culebra high in the priority when in the Island. As you may know, Puerto Rico is an archipelago. Culebra is a small island located at the east of the main island. To get here you have to get ferry tickets. The beaches in Culebra have crystal clear water and are simply beautiful. In my opinion Culebra, Vieques, and Palomino, all near each other, are one of the most beautiful places in the whole Caribbean.

Condado Beach

Condado Beach

Monday, Sep 12, 2022

• I was basically raised at Condado. It’s not unusual for me to meet my friends at Ocean Park, the area where the beach is located, for a day full of music, spikeball, beach tennis, calisthenics, and relaxing. You can also spend the day surfing and kite surfing in this area. After the beach there are multiple places to go grab a bite at. Some of my favorite ones are Buns, Ponte Fresco, Marco’s Pizza, Crush, TresBe, and Pinky’s.

Metropol

Metropol

Tuesday, Sep 6, 2022

• Coming back to Puerto Rico from college, “Metropol” is the obvious answer when my parents ask me where I want to go eat. After eating dining hall food for 4 months, my body craves un “arrocito con habichuelas bien rico”(A good plate of rice and beans). Metropol will serve all the Puerto Rican main dishes. Even though my go to is the Metropol near the airport, there are a handful of locations around the island.

El Churry

El Churry

Thursday, Aug 18, 2022

• After a long day at the beach, a road trip around the island, or coming back from La Placita at 3am, there’s nothing like a good “Churry”. This Puerto Rican sandwich food-truck chain’s reputation proceeds it. I definitely recommend going to “El Churry” at some point of your stay at Puerto Rico. It’s like nothing you’ve ever had. La Cueva del Indio

La Cueva del Indio

Thursday, Aug 18, 2022

• Located not too far away from San Juan, La Cueva del Indio is a magical place. There’s an entrance fee that is not too expensive but any local would know that if you park just a little bit ahead of the main parking you can walk by the beach and enter the cave. It’s an easy 8-minute hike to the top and aside from an amazing view you’ll get to admire the stalactites, stalagmites, bats, and the sight of the ocean’s waves constantly beating the rocks.

Pinky's

Pinky's

Monday, Aug 1, 2022

• Pinky’s is 100% my favorite breakfast place in Puerto Rico. There are two locations near Condado, a beach a frequent regularly. The vibe in the breakfast & brunch restaurant is incredibly relax and chill. My go-to order is a Mallorca Breakfast Sandwich with any The Classic smoothie. It’s amazing! Head over to Pinky’s if you’re in the area. Click here for directions: 🧭

La Placita

La Placita

Monday, Jul 25, 2022

• A fan of a night life myself, don’t be surprised if you run into me at “Placi”. La Placita de Santurce offers a unique experience to anyone who is looking for a good time on a Friday or Saturday night. It’s a square full of bars, clubs, and speakeasies. From “Saque” shots in the Japanese bar to salsa in the main square, La Placita is a thrilling experience. More than just a place to hang out, it’s a culturally rich location that lights up during the day functioning as the central marketplace of the area.

Isla Verde

Isla Verde

Saturday, Jul 9, 2022

• Isla Verde, similarly to Condado, is one of my go-to beaches. On one side you have Pine Grove and on the other you have Hobbie. They’re both equally as good and provide the perfect environment for a chill day with family and friends. On the Hobbie side where a lot of hotels are located, jet skis and banana boats can be rented. The Pine Grove side is more relax and often visited by locals.

Old San Juan

Old San Juan

Friday, Jul 1, 2022

• I decided not to assign a tag to this spot because you can’t limit this magical place to simply one category. Instead what I’ll do is break down this “islote” (tiny island), called Old San Juan, by parts. Click here for directions: 🧭 • Old San Juan is a tiny island seperated from the main land. El Puente Dos Hermanos is the only way to get to the island by ground transportation.
